I swear, it's not that I'm the meanest Mom in the world.
It's not purely for my own entertainment that I do these things to her.

Her hair isn't *quite* long enough to all go up in pigtails.
And it's just so hot outside - I know it must be nice to have it off
her neck.
So - voila! Spacey hairdo. I promise, I don't take her out
in public like this.
She sure loves to draw with her chalk. And there's hardly any
eating of it like there was last year.
Hey! What's that?
Right there? On the ground?
A big, squishy caterpillar strolls right across our drawing area.
She watched his progress veeeery carefully.
Man, I wish she hadn't moved out of the frame at the last minute.
Look at that tongue!
Heh. You gotta be quick if you want a good picture of me, Mommy!
Doing a little yoga.
Hmmm. What color do I want to use now?
Ah! This one looks good!
Yes! Perfect!
Wait! Now I need some yellow!
Aaah. It's all coming together, now.
More white... (from a brand new piece - they all end up outside the box
by the time she's done.)
I don't know what you're talking about, Mommy. Now, if you'll
excuse me while I get a new blue (notice the perfectly good one laying
right next to the box.)
Close-up of the hairdo.
Another blue? Why not!
Close-up of the cuteness.
A few glamour shots.
Posing.
She sure loves to draw. I can't imagine where she gets it from.
Ok - here's where I got smart.
I stuck her in the pool, then IMMEDIATELY got out the camera.
And it worked out! Look how much fun she has!
GREEN DUCK! In the baby pool!
Hi Mommy! I'm swimming!
It was about here that she decided I should put down the camera and
come join them.
One last pic of my bathing beauty.
After about 90 min. of swimming, she needed to recharge.
Nothing says "second wind" like an ice-cream sandwich.
Mmmmph.
Here she struggles to chew a bit the size of her head.
Holy cow. She ate at least 85 % of this thing, in about 2 minutes
flat.
That was pretty good, thanks.
But I'm still beat. Lets call it a day. (Look at that kid -
fried like chicken. She slept goood that night.)
Jaynie and her boyfriend, "Big Elmo".
So what if he likes to wear pretty dresses? I love him!
Now, let's get down to the business of coloring!
I figured once she was a big kid who wore shoes and walked around I'd
stop being so obsessed with her feet. I was wrong.
Big Elmo, did she just take a picture of my foot?
Considering her next masterpiece.
Seriously - how cute is this kid? I can see why the stupid bugs
keep biting her - she's scrumptious!
Beautiful girl at the park!
Desperately trying to get on this rocket ship.
Hmm. Think I could just hitch a ride on the wing?
No, this isn't quite right. Sigh.
Jaynie finds the least safe thing to play on, and goes nuts.
Here she is on the "Bridge of Death" - made from 2X4's and
metal chains, clearly a throwback to when I was a kid. It's like she
wants me to have a heart attack.
What, Mommy? I'm tired of all that safe plastic stuff! Let
me live a little, sheesh!
I was painting my toes, and after watching for a few minutes she held a
foot up and demanded "JAYNIE PINK TOES!" So bossy.
But so cute! Look at those little feet! My baby is getting
too grown up.
Just waking up from a nap - all soft and yummy.
This was leaning in to give the camera a kiss
Heehee. I kissed it for real!
Now it's your turn, Mommy. Kiss my belly!
Hahahahaaaa!
She loved me taking pictures of her feet so much, she insisted I take
one of her hand.
Man - she's so cuddly after a nap.
Here we have a picture of her teeth.
Ooh! It's somersault time!
Yeah! Somersaults!
The day after I had her in the pink sundress, the temperatrue drops
like 20 degrees and it's fall!
We take advantage of the cool weather, and Jaynie, Riley, and I head
outside to color.
Riley's mom and I have the greatest thing going. On Tuesdays both
girls are at Riley's house from 9 - 3, and on Thursdays they're both
here. Free days for the moms, a playmate twice a week for the
girls. I'm a genius.
What's that? Up in the sky?
It's an AIRPLANE!!!
Look, Mommy! Right there!
Madam moves in for a closer look at the camera.
Riley decides she'd better check it out, too.
After Riley left, Madam and I headed on base to see the airplanes up
close.
This is what I got when I said "Smile!" Who knows.
Jaynie's first pinecone. She carried it around for about an
hour. She loved that thing.
Here is her favorite airplane. Or, as she calls it, "Black
airplane, WHITE STAR!" (while doing the sign for star - it's really,
really cute.)
I think in this one she's just posing. She seems to think she's a
fashion model.
Hello?
Yeah, I can talk! How have you been?
Oh, not much. Mom's got me out looking at the airplanes again.
Jaynie does her stellar impression of an airplane.
Are you getting this, Mommy? This is good stuff!
How cute is this outfit, btw? I got it for $3.
Wow, Mommy. You are one excellent shopper!
I have no idea why she's flashing me in this picture. When I
started taking it, she was doing more of "the airplane" dance.
Oh... wait for it...
.... there it is... AIRPLANE!!!
