01 Jan.

Hee hee! Mommy gave me candy!
It's great! Yummy and sticky!
She's letting me watch TV, too!
Guess we know who the fun parent is, huh!
Hmm. Did I mention sticky?
Is spaghetti Jaynie's new favorite food?
Or is it just Mommy's favorite food to watch her eat?
First you carefully select your noodle...
then you chomp it...
now slurp!
SLURP!
Mmph mmm mmf - it's delicious!
Jaynie - show me your teeth!
No silly - show me all 4!
Ok Mom - you got what you wanted. Now it's my turn. Stop taunting
me and just tell me - WHERE'S MY CRACKER?
03 Jan.
Let me OUT OF HERE!
Heehee - Hi Momma!
This gate, Mom, why do we have this gate?
This is what I think of being locked in my room. (Notice the pea
on the tongue - this picture was taken at least 30 min. after lunch.
Was she saving it for any particular reason?)
I'll figure out how to climb this gate, someday. (Someday soon,
no doubt.)
Thhhhbbbbbbbtt.
Ha HA! I have the shampoo mohawk! (Actually - the way it
curls over now - she kind of looks like a Who from Whoville!)
No - her face isn't melting. She got a drop of water on the
camera lens.
Aaaahhhhh.
Thhbbbt!
The Destroyer hard at work in her room. 2 baskets down, 2 to go.
That's IT Momma! I'm done with you!
I WANT MY DAD!
You get him RIGHT NOW, Mom!
What? Home for my birthday?
I guess I can wait. (Shudder sniffle sigh)
Having a hissy fit can really ruin a girls hairdo. So Jaynie
COMBS HER HAIR. =)
Look what a good job she did, too!
04 Jan.
06 Jan.
We're working on using utensils.
Fingers still win out, thought, when we're hungry.
Here, Mom, I'll chew on this empty fork. Will that make you
happy?
That is the toy she pitched into the hall to get me to come running.
(If your baby was on the other side of the house playing, and you heard a
super-loud crash, you'd run, too!) (I actually had to push it back toward
the doorway to get it in the shot - she really pitched that sucker!)
Ha! I knew that would get your attention!
Now you are here, I stick my tongue out at you!
Aaahhhhh!
Jaynie's in the zone.
Hi Dad!
We miss you!
Jaynie-poo, can you explain something to me, please?
How on earth did you manage to get your slipper and sock off, when you
can't even reach your feet?
Ah, Mom, a magician never reveals her tricks!
Speaking of tricks! Did you know that if you give these things a
good tug they come right off?
Huh! You learn something new every day!
After carefully examining the bib...
...she mocks my inability to keep it around her neck...
...and pitches it on the floor next to her footwear. (Which I am
also completely unable to keep on her.
Hey! There's some food up here!
Mmm - tastes like applesauce!
Heehee - I told you I was saving that for later!
07 Jan.
Jaynie's newest toy - a baby kitchen (it's got a sink, oven, fridge -
basically it's just a big sturdy plastic thing with no sharp corners that
she can pull up on and cruise around.)
She looks a little damp in this one because she was just yelling at me
for changing her diaper and managed to squeeze out two tears for effect.
Baby on the move!
This is the very first thing I do, too, when I approach my sink - rip
the faucet out of the counter-top and chomp it! Don't you?
Mom, it sounds like you're mocking me again.
For that I will WAP you! (If you can't tell what's going on here
- I'm flat on my back, she's standing up over me, and about 1/6th of a
second after this picture was taken she gave me a good whack to the belly
w/ both hands and all her weight. She's gonna make Mommy and Daddy so
proud in the WWF one day!)
You deserved it, Momma. Stop your whining!
I'm totally in love with this outfit. The I Love Mommy! shirt is
obviously my fav, the pants are great, and she's got her butterfly shoes
on. So cute.
Here she poses like a fashion model, showing it off.
Enough posing! There are toys to be chomped and flung!
08 Jan.
Yeah - remember what I said about that kitchen toy being sturdy to pull
up on?
Here it is laying on it's side. The Destroyer strikes again!
What a cutie this kid is. Trouble... but cute.
Jaynie feeds herself her yogurt!
It's messier then when Mommy does it...
...but way more fun!
Of course, when I say "feeds herself" I mean "takes the
loaded spoon from me and sticks it in her mouth, then gives me back the
empty to reload."
Could you just let me have my moment, Mom?!
Huh.
You were right - this was quite a bit messier than usual!
09 Jan.
What Mom?
Yah - I'm holding my ducky - is that a problem for you?
Bath toy? You've got to think outside the box, Momma!
This would have been in the "bad shots" section, except for
that tongue. =)
Heeheeeee! Happy baby!
She's happy because she's got that ducky!
Look careful - he's still there!
Playing with her blocks.... while still holding the duck.
Basically, there is no getting that thing away from her.
Oh, Duck! How I love thee!
Mom - you are nuts!
And I have some bad news for you, Mom. Here - you'll need these
wipes...
Heeheehee! Just kidding! Now - leave me and my friend alone
to play, please. (She sleeps with him in the crib, too. She's
a little baby-girl Ernie.)
10 Jan.
11 Jan.
Yes - I see that these 3 are almost identical...
...but after the excess of bad shots lately, I wanted to include them
all.
If you're only going to open one, this is it. The best of the
bunch.
Where's Jaynie???
There she is! Peek-a-boo!
All that peek-a-boo wore her out.
What a sweet little muffin.
Mmmph - go away Mom, I'm sleeping.
This is a baby who is attacking her Momma.
Here she is getting me. Notice that tongue - what a look of
concentration she has!
Hahahahahaaa! Gotcha!
In a calendar-marking-moment, Jaynie actually puts something back
where she found it!
Yeah - these blocks go here, right?
She still hasn't mastered walking with the hippo - but she has fun
trying.
Ah - here she is abusing that poor train.
That train curses the day I bought it.
13 Jan.
Look Mom! I got a card in the mail!
So what it was addressed to you! Details details!
You want me to read it to you?
Sure. Umm.....
Maybe I'll just play with my ducky, instead.
Oh - Hi Momma.
Yeah yeah yeah - I can't stay away from this card! It has a bear
on it! (Look at those cute feet - sooo chompable!)
This is what happens when you pull your hair with a food-covered hand.
Blahblahblah, Momma! It's bathtime! (Here - I'll just get
this shirt for you.)
14 Jan.
So
many
pictures
of
Jaynie
and
Ducky.
You're just jealous, Mom!
You wish you had a cool Ducky like this!
I'm through being mocked! I'm outta here!
Madam has another rough afternoon.
Those of you who think I'm mean for taking pics while she's crying...
I'd like to point out that I'm actually holding her here.
WhatEVER, Momma! You are cruel and heartless! I give you my
best skeptical face!
Now - what would make me feel lots better is if you'd just hand over
that camera!
Feeling better and dazzling me by standing unassisted!
Hard at work, playing with her blocks.
Look at her shake that thing!
It only takes her 3 seconds to completely empty out the case they go
in.
Whoa! Ernie! You scared me half to death!
I'll stick with the blocks - they don't pop out at you!
What? He freaked me out, ok?
Jaynie tries and tries to figure out how this barn works.
Probably by next week I'll have pictures up of her playing with it like
a pro.
For now, she decides to stick with her keys. Hey! They
jingle when you shake them - irresistible!
15 Jan.
I bought Jaynie this hippo poof - it's way more fun than a washcloth!
Hmm - looks yummy.
Mmph. I was right! Delicious!
This baby looooves her bath.
Look how happy she is. What a cutie.
It's great, Momma! Splashing and playing with my toys...
...Well - you're right - I play with this ducky 24/7!
Not the greatest pic, but I thought she was so cute bundled in that
towel, and I couldn't figure out a better way to take one.
16 Jan.
18 Jan.
Uh oh! Cuteness alert!
She was having a wicked-bad hair day. I figured a bow was the
only thing that could save it.
Oooh - you're right, Mom! I look fabulous!
The stupid camera refused to flash. It seemed to think there was
plenty of light already.
This one's better - what we're seeing here is the Twinkus standing up
in her carseat. If she doesn't want to be strapped in, good luck
forcing her!
HI MOM!
Oh nothin - just hanging out.
Whoa! You again!?!
Is it just me or is she getting cuter and cuter?
Seriously - look at her! She's adorable!
Wait a minute - is she deliberately hamming it up? Is this forced
cuteness?
Huh - I think I may be onto something here. This is way to cute
to be real. =)
Hee hee hee hee hee!
I have pineapple juice in my hair...
...and waffle on my nose! Ha!
Mom, are you laughing at me?
Aaaahhhh. That's what I think of that!
19 Jan.
After days of below freezing temps...
...we had an absolutely beautiful day. |
So Madam and I decided to head outside for a while. |
This is the other book she suddenly loves. She really likes the
pictures of babies.
Done with books - now time to play with some leaves! |
They're so much fun! All crinkly and easy to rip up and fling!
Yeah - this was inevitable. |
What a sweetie. =) |
| |
Oh MAN!
I'm such a bad Mom. |
Posting naked baby pictures on the internet!
Butt! |
Yeaaaah - this one's going to be brought up in therapy for sure! |
20 Jan.
23 Jan.
HEE hee hee hee hee!
I finally remembered to put the camera on my bedside table.
So now you all get the privilege of seeing what I wake up to every
morning.
The sweetest, yummiest, most adorable baby in the world.
And her duck. Of course. =)
Jaynie felt like wearing a headband.
I know you all are doubting me, but it's true!
SHE is the one that put that yellow one on her head.
Here she is trying.
Look at that distrustful look! It's almost like she knows the
headband I bought her says "Trouble Maker" on it.
More fun with her hairbows.
Putting it on...
...taking it off.
Mom - this is the most fun I've ever had with hair accessories!
Why didn't you tell me how fun this girly stuff is before?
What about this pink one?
Does it go with my outfit? Is it on straight?
You're not laughing at me, are you? You know I don't get this
from Dad, right?
Here we have the problem with putting bows on and off your head all
afternoon.
Messy, messy hair.
Jaynie decides to stick with what she knows.
And what she knows...
Is CHOMPING!
Speaking of chomping, I'm the luckiest woman in the world - I get to
chomp this cheek all day long. =)
Man, she's so cute.
Jaynie having a serious moment.
Just tell me, Mom, does it look as cute as I think it does?
Yeah - that's what a figured.
Aaaaaahhhh.
I love you, Momma. (Oh come ON! That's so obviously what
she's thinking here!)
This is me bribing Jaynie with pineapple to get her to walk. You
laugh, but it worked. Three steps in a row! =)
25 Jan.
26 Jan.
27 Jan.
29 Jan.
30 Jan.
In the winter, you just don't get enough pictures of those thigh chubs!
So I snapped a few in between pj's and clothes. Enjoy!
Hunh. Baby Mickey lost his red ball again!
You silly mouse! It's not in the tub!
Whew. I didn't think he was ever going to find it!
What, Mom? You want smiles?
Here you go!
Or how about this one? With teeth!
Are we done here? I'm on a very tight schedule of playing and
reading and destroying.
Madam rediscovers her chair.
This thing is great! Finally a place to lounge!
It's a good spot for reading my books, too.
She's so serious with these books.
Good thing she already has her own library card - I can tell she's
going to be a voracious reader.
Look at those cute feet!
Still reading.
Do you mind, Momma?
Ok ok - I'm done with the books. Flash away!
Several things to take note of here. 1) The totally cute jeans
Gil and Evie got her. 2) The fact that she's standing up unassisted.
3) The fact that she's not only standing unassisted, but she's picking up
a fairly heavy toy and not losing her balance. 4) Her big fat belly
hanging over the previously mentioned cute jeans. =)
31 Jan.
Feet! Feet! Feet! (If you are not one of her parents, you probably won't
appreciate this. Feel free to move it along to the bad shots section.)
| In case you guys were wondering
to yourselves - "Now that the baby is mobile, is it harder to get
good photos of her?" - here is your answer. YES! She's
EVERYWHERE! And she's quick! I'll get her attention, push the
button, but by the time the flash goes off she's moved on. Here are
a couple of examples - welcome to my life. =)
Standing in the bath - trying to give me a heart attack.
This is how that drop of water got on the lens. She lunged for
me, and like I said - she's quick!
Why smile at the camera when you can stare at your toys?
Or chomp the gate?
Or watch the fan? (The thing you have to remember - when I push
the button she's looking at me - then while I wait for the flash she turns
around/crawls away/whatever.)
One of many pics I have of her back.
This is a great one of the nursery wall. Glad I painted those flowers -
at least we have something to look at!
For every great close up I get, I have 6 of these.
Why I thought I could compete with her toys is beyond me.
I'm no match for the fan, either (but we knew that.)
Here's the opposite of not being interesting enough...
...it's just as impossible to take pictures of a baby who's charging
you like an angry rhino.
